Description
English: Autistic advocates rebel against negative stereotypes and puzzle pieces. Puzzle pieces tend to be seen as carrying negative connotations, such as incompleteness, imperfection, and strangeness. Autistic people reject puzzle pieces as a way to challenge stigma and dominant narratives about autism.
Français : Certains 'défenseurs' des autistes se rebellent contre la métaphore des pièces de puzzle qu'ils jugent associés à des stéréotypes porteurs de connotations négatives (incomplétude, imperfection et étrangeté) là où d'autres y voient au contraire le symbole de la complétude. Certaines personnes autistes rejettent la symbolique des pièces de puzzle, contestant ainsi la stigmatisation et les récits dominants sur l'autisme.
