Deutsch: Am Strandweg zwischen Kellenhusen und Dahme unweit des Leuchtturms Dahmeshöved erinnern eine Informationstafel und ein Gedenkstein an die Menschen, die zwischen 1949 und 1989 versuchten, über das Meer von Mecklenburg in der DDR nach Schleswig-Holstein in Westdeutschland zu fliehen. Nur wenige entkamen. Viele ertranken. Die meisten wurden gefangen genommen.
English: On the beach path between Kellenhusen and Dahme, not far from the Dahmeshöved lighthouse, an information board and a memorial stone commemorate the people who tried to flee across the sea from Mecklenburg in the GDR to Schleswig-Holstein in West Germany between 1949 and 1989. Only a few escaped. Many drowned. Most were taken prisoner.
