Description
English: On 26 April 2022, Secretary Delfin N Lorenzana, Department of National Defense, graced the Ceremonial Acceptance, Turn-over and Blessing of the Spyder Air Defense System (SPADS) Simulator Training Center at Basa Air Base, Floridablanca, Pampanga.

This Training Center marks the AFP's first Missile System Training Center. It will serve as a molding ground for future Missile System Operators as they deal with simulated real-world challenges to increase personnel readiness and mastery of skills. As warfare continuously evolves into a complex, multi-layered series of threats, strengthening the Ground-based Air Defense capability of the country plays a crucial part in achieving a more holistic approach to a nation's defense capabilities.

The activity was also attended by the Ambassador of Israel, His Excellency Ilan Fluss, Executive Vice President (EVP) of Rafael Advanced Defense Systems (RADS), BG (Res) Pinhas Yungman, Commanding General, PAF, LTGEN CONNOR ANTHONY D CANLAS SR PAF , Commander, Air Defense Command, MGEN AUGUSTINE S MALINIT PAF, and Group Commander, 960th Air and Missile Defense Group (AMDG), LTC RODOLFO N MANGAYA JR PAF (GSC).
