Image title	RNZAF Hercules aircraft NZ7003 Retiirement flight around Auckland, the Hauraki Gulf and West Coast before flying to Base Woodbourne after 58 years of service.Wheels down....The first of our C-130H Hercules fleet has made its final flight today before landing at Base Woodbourne for its well-deserved retirement.Arriving in Aotearoa New Zealand in 1965, the aircraft has flown missions around the world, from the Middle East to Antarctica and all places in between.The tactical transport plane has been involved in countless humanitarian aid and disaster relief missions to our Pacific neighbours delivering much-needed aid following natural disasters, transporting vital military equipment and aid to multiple countries, most recently Ukraine, and hundreds of flights to the Antarctic carrying scientists and equipment for essential research to the frozen continent.Its crews past and present will remember the aircraft and its missions fondly.The aircraft has provided strategic airlift (inter-theatre) and tactical airlift (intra-theatre) as well as participating in numerous international operations and exercises.
