English: On 29 April 2024, the 580th Aircraft Control and Warning Wing spearheaded the Acceptance, Turnover, and Blessing Ceremony of the Mobile Air Surveillance Radar System at General Headquarters, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
The newly acquired Mobile Radar is Part of the AFP Modernization Project under Horizon 2 which aims to enhance operational flexibility, achieving tactical advantage and ensuring operational resilience, providing cost-effective Solutions adapting to changing operational Requirements, Environments, and Missions, ensuring access to crucial Radar Data and Surveillance when and where it is needed. Moreover, the Ceremony was graced by the Secretary of National Defense, Honorable Gilberto C. Teodoro, Jr. which expressed his gratitude to Japan in helping us in leveling up our Capabilities in the face of time constraints, not only to secure their own internal strengths against external volatility, but to align with one another jointly and in a combined manner to address evolving challenges that we feel and see Today. |
