Description 208-PU-52-P-7: Doenitz Government Arrested. Allied war correspondents interview, left to right: Albert Speer, Hitler’s Minister of Production; Grand Admiral Karl Donitz, Hitler’s successor, and Colonel General Gustav Jodl, acting Commander-in-Chief of the German Army, shortly after their arrest May 23, 1945, at Flonsburg, Germany. They were arrested by order of General of the Army Dwight D. Eisenhower, Supreme Allied Commander. Colonel General Hans-Goorg Friedeburg, who surrendered the German Navy to the Allies, was arrested at the same time but committed suicide.
