| Description |
English: Seventeen cannon and artifacts were loaded onto a flatbed semitruck Jan. 31, 2023, at the Savannah District Engineers Depot and hauled to the Texas A&M Conservation Research Laboratory.
The items successfully reached their destination Feb. 2 and were offloaded, where they will spend the next 3-5 years being conserved. Officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Savannah History Museum, Texas A&M, the Commonwealth Heritage Group, and the Coastal Heritage Society collaborated over the past year to make this come to fruition. Once the cannon and artifacts are restored, they will return to Savannah and be placed on display at the Savannah History Museum.
