Summary[edit]

Description
English: Pyrite on quartz (variety rock crystal):
Group with several octahedral {111} pyrite crystals on a bed of colorless quartz, a typical specimen of that prolific and already classic mine. The main crystal is complete all around, measures 53 mm from tip to tip and 41 mm on edge, with narrow stepped edges that may be faces of rhombododecahedron {110}. The octahedral faces are mirror-like, as can be appreciated with the reflected quartz crystals. In very good condition except for some natural but stabilized cracks (hard to see in the photos).
Overall size: 102 mm x 70 mm x 40 mm. Weight: 314 g.
Specimen from the Huanzala Mine, Huallanca, Huallanca District, Bolognesi Province, Ancash Department, Peru.
