Description
English: Spike glycoprotein from SARS-CoV-2 from 2 angles: side view and top view. Latter is roted by 90 degrees. PDB: 6VSB. Homotrimer. Parts of the actual structure are not shown. Top of the protein (left) binds human ACE2 receptors through which SARS-CoV-2 binds to cells and infects them. Teal, magenta and purple: monomers. Yellow: disulfide bonds. Red: carbohydrates. Gray block: lipid membrane of the virus.
