English: (right) 915 5th Street NW; It was constructed in 1892 by Charles Edmonston, whose notable designs include the Sherman House and the Hay-Adams Houses (current site of the Hay–Adams Hotel). (left) 917-919 5th Street NW; The two buildings (since combined) were constructed in 1936 and designed by Thomas M. Medford. It originally served as a poultry market for James A. Beasley, Jr.. The building currently houses a restaurant. The buildings are designated contributing properties to the Mount Vernon Triangle Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. |
