English:
Name: Caesarea Obelisk and Eastern Hippodrome
Description: King Herod erected a red granite obelisk in the Hippodrome in Caesarea. This obelisk was uncovered by archaeologists lying on the ground and re-erected in the eastern hippodrome. The obelisk in Caesarea was brought from Egypt in the days of Herod, after years it fell and broke into three parts. In 2001 it was renovated.

תיאור: המלך הורדוס הקים אובליסק גרניט אדום בהיפודרום בקיסריה. אובליסק זה נחשף על ידי ארכאולוגים מונח על הקרקע והוקם שוב בהיפודרום המזרחי. האובליסק בקיסריה הובא ממצרים בימיו של הורדוס ,לאחר שנים הוא נפל ונשבר לשלושה חלקים. ב 2001 שופץ.(הושבילים)
הערות: אובליסק (obelos= שיפוד) הוא מונומנט צר וגבוה, הבנוי מיחידת אבן אחת, ולו 3 אלמנטים ארכיטקטוניים: בסיס מרובע, עמוד גבוה בעל א4 צדדים המתחדד כלפי מעלה, ובסופו פירמידה שפאותיה הן משולשים שווי צלעות. מן העולם המצרי העתיק שרדו 29 אובליסקים בלבד.11 מהם באיטליה לשם הובאו על ידי הרומאים, 9 נותרו במצרים והשאר ברחבי העולם אובליסק קיסריה נסתר מאחורי שדרות עצים ,בין מטעי הבננות של קיבוץ שדות ים הסמוכים לגן לאומי קיסריה.בתוך ההיפודרום המזרחי של קיסריה. אורכו של ההיפודרוםכ-450 מטר ורוחבו הכ-90 מטר.(הושבילים)
