Description
English: A U.S. Navy Ling-Temco-Vought A-7C Corsair II from attack squadron VA-86 Sidewinders armed with twelve 227 kg (500 lb) Mk 82 bombs ready for launching from the aircraft carrier USS America (CV-66). VA-86 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 6 (CVW-6) aboard the America (CV-66) for a deployment to Vietnam from 5 June 1972 to 24 March 1973. In the background are Grumman A-6A Intruders from VA-35 Black Panthers and an EA-6B Prowler from electronic countermeasures squadron VAQ-132 Scorpions.
