Summary[edit]

Description
English: Here's our Korean War infantry man. I don't have his name. The Korean War era soldier looked very much like a late WWII era soldier. By the 1950s most khaki gear was replaced by olive-drab. The cartridge belt has 10 pockets; each pocket holds an 8 round clip for the M1 Garand rifle. Since the Army didn't have official helmet covers (unlike the Marine 'frogskin' cover), some soldiers in Korea improvised helmet covers to break up the outline of their 'brain bucket.' On a clear, winter night the covers muffled the sound of helmet's brushing against against branches etc.
