English: Depending on how you define a core, there are either one or two cores in this photo.
This is from the chip which delaminated from the package in this photo: flic.kr/p/2oR7Ti5. It made getting the upper layers off very easy and I just used the razor method to peel off the rest that was not already delaminated. After that I used 2micron aluminum oxide lapping film to sand away the remaining layers. There was still a tiny bit of gunk towards the center of the die (top right), but I didn't want to risk going too far for the rest of the chip, so I stopped. Downscaled to 80% of original size.
