Summary[edit]

Description
Deutsch: Uniform des Norwegischen Heeres im Festungsmuseum Bergenhus (Militärmuseum der Festung Bergenhus) in Bergen, Norwegen:
English: Display at the Bergenhus Fortress Museum in Bergen, Norway:
  • 3-pound cannon in fortress gun carriage The cannon barrel was produced at Fredriksværk in Denmark. It was made to shoot a round iron ball weighing 1.5 kilos. The cannon crew was made up of four men, who could fire up to five shots in the course of one minute. The cannon's practical shooting range was 450 meters. Bronze cannons were the best, because bronze was tougher than cast iron. An iron cannon that exploded became a pure fragmentation grenade, while the bronze cannons would simply tear.
Norsk bokmål: Fra utstilling i Bergenhus festningsmuseum ved Bergenhus festning i Bergen:
  • Festningskanon i affutasje
