English: A Blondin Conveyance at Vivian Quarry Named after the famous French tight-rope artiste, Charles Blondin, who walked across the Niagara Falls on a wire, a Blodin conveyance was a wire rope stretched across a pit with a carriage for wagons to attach to. This allowed the wagons to be raised and lowered.
