| Description |
English: A Proper Slate Fence This is an excellent example of a now endangered feature of the slate quarrying districts - the slate fence. This would have been constructed using large pieces of waste slate. Such fences are found only in the vicinity of quarries or along the quarry railway routes as the combined weight of the slabs would be considerable. |
