Pied Harriers are very beautiful but incredibly rare birds in our region. I was lucky to sight 3-4 of them this season, but they are from quite afar. This was a male, which was not seen again so far to my knowledge in our region this season! It made a long circle and then came towards us and we were able to take normal shots and positively id it - that part was easy though - the ID'ing! They are entirely black and white (hence Pied), and down South, rare! Another one was sighted recently around 75 kms away from here, so will be checking it out. Thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated. |
