Summary
[edit]DescriptionA bend in Church Road Bites Back^ - geograph.org.uk - 395385.jpg |
English: A bend in Church Road Bites Back! These skid-marks on Church Road near Frating bare witness to the comeuppance of some boy (or girl) racer, the marks continued behind the photographer for some long distance. According to my GPS they were 53m long (+/- 5m) according to the Highway Code the driver would have been doing 60mph when they hit the brakes. This is total tosh (if it was a modern car), the stopping distances in the Highway Code havent changed since I had my first copy for my cycling proficiency thingy in Cub Scouts in 1967. I would bet these happened on a dark night at about 80mph at the very least. |
