English: A foot print carved in the rock inside Dunadd Castle According to a contributor to The Megalithic Portal, http://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=342 the Clan Chiefs would bring a pouch of soil from their territory to Dunadd, place this in the foot mark, put their foot on top and swear allegiance to the High King of Scots with their foot on their native heath. Thus saving the King the bother of travelling round all of them. |
