A rusty brown metal items with a hole at one end. Item is curved, 8 cm in length and wide rangers from 2 cm then down to 1 cm and then to 1 1/2 cm.

A side plate which may have come from a .69 caliber Model 1816 Springfield musket. Large numbers of these flintlock muskets were converted to percussion caps and were used during the first few years of the Civil War.
