English: Abellio Surrey 8093 (KV03 ZFW), a Dennis Dart SLF/Plaxton Pointer MPD, in Cawsey Way, Woking, Surrey, on route 426. The first widespread snow that Britain faced in the early 2010 spell started on the evening of 5 January, which saw some late night bus services pulled off the road, though Abellio were not affected. Significant snowfall continued overnight, and by Wednesday 6 January the roads were in chaos, especially as Surrey County Council had only gritted A-roads to preserve salt stocks. Most bus operators in South East England suspended services for the entire day on Wednesday 6 January, including Arriva and Countryliner in Woking, and so Abellio Surrey were the only bus operator running in the town. Abellio put on an impressive effort, running all services on Wednesday 6th and again on Thursday 7th with the exception of school routes where the schools had closed, and on the Thursday some housing estates where the roads had iced over overnight. Woking was probably the least affected place in the area, and in the town centre by the time this photo was taken many of the main roads were clear, however surroundings areas were affected more. In the November/December 2010 snowfall, Abellio Surrey also ran services throughout, although some routes had to be diverted away from the worst affected areas.
