Description Academia da Força Aérea (AFA) em Pirassununga/SP/Brasil. Sobrevoo na chegada do caça F-5EM no Domingo Aéreo 2015. Este avião é histórico, foi o primeiro F-5 produzido no mundo (não teve protótipo), decolando pela primeira vez na Base Aérea de Edwards em 11 de agosto de 1972, exibindo a matrícula norte-americana 71-1417. Em 1988 a FAB adquiriu um lote de 22 caças F-5E usados da USAF (além de outos quatro F-5F). Estas aeronaves estavam baseadas em Willians AFB e Nellis AFB. Os aviões estavam entre os F-5E mais antigos do mundo, sendo que 15 deles faziam parte do primeiro lote de 30 unidades produzido pela Northrop, um deles era exatamente o “1417″. No Brasil, recebeu a matrícula FAB-4856. Em 2005 o caça foi "modernizado" pela EMBRAER, recebendo a designação F-5EM. Agora o caça supersônico atinge a velocidade máxima de 2..112 km/h (mach 1.63 a 10.975 m), com um teto máximo de 15.790 mts ou 51.804 pés. Sem o tanque externo de combustível, o F-5EM atinge 1.056 km (tanque cheio, 2 mísseis AIM 9-B Phyton-3 e 5 min de combate a 5.000 m)
