Summary[edit]

Description

EADS Astrium engineers are seen in this image routing a cable for an acoustic test for one of the James Webb Space Telescope's scientific instruments at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center's cleanroom in Greenbelt, Md. This test showed how Webb's Near Infrared Spectrometer's Micro Shutter Arrays respond to vibration levels that the telescope will experience during launch. The acoustic test results were very positive and helped in the development of new Micro Shutter Arrays.
