Description

Acute interstitial pneumonia (AIP)/Idiopathic DAD

Interstitial fibroblastic proliferation with a myxoid extracellular matrix as seen in the proliferative/organizing phase of DAD is the characteristic lung lesion in AIP. Identical fibroblastic proliferation may also occur within air spaces (alveoli) as seen here
