Summary[edit]

Description Lot-9425-5: Chief of Streamlined U.S. Navy. Taking battle stations for an all-out offensive against the Axis, top men of the U.S. Navy leave the White House in Washington after officially reorganizing the Navy to streamlined form. Left to right, they are: Admiral Ernest J. King, USN, Frank Knox, Secretary of the Navy, and Admiral Harold R. Stark, former Chief of Naval Operations, who will assume a newly created command chief o U.S. Naval Forces in European waters, March 1942. Of note on March 26, 1942, Admiral King would relieve Admiral Stark as Chief of Naval Operations would become Commander in Chief U.S. Fleet and Chief of Naval Operations. Office of War Information.
