Description
English: In memory of the units of the 1st British Airborne Division and of the 1st Polish Independent Parachute Brigade group which landed in this vicinity on 17, 18 and 19 september 1944. From here they advanced in the direction of Arnhem to seize the road-bridge as part of Operation Market Garden.This Battle of Arnhem lasted from 17 to 26 september 1944.
Nederlands: Ter herinnering aan de eenheden van de 1e Britse Luchtlandingsdivisie en van de 1e Poolse onafhankelijke Parachutistenbrigade die op 17, 18 en 19 september 1944 in deze omgeving landden. Van hieruit trokken zij richting Arnhem om de verkeersbrug te veroveren als onderdeel van de Operatie Market Garden. Deze Slag om Arnhem duurde van 17 tot 26 september 1944.
