Deutsch: Der Hof von Akbar, eine Illustration aus der “Akbarnama” (die offizielle Geschichte von Akbars Regierungszeit in drei Bänden). Die Spiral-Komposition mit Pferden, welche die äußere Ecke bestimmen, lenkt geschickt die Aufmerksamkeit des Betrachters auf den jungen Kaiser (13 Jahre). Er ist porträtiert in einer mächtigen zentralen Position, von der er seine erste kaiserliche Handlung ausführt: die Festnahme eines widerspenstigen Höflings, der einst der Favorit von Akbars Vater war. Der Sitz des Kaisers steht auf einem floral gemusterten Teppich.
