Description
العربية: جامع الخلفاء في بغداد ويقع في شارع الجمهورية قرب سوق الغزل في الشورجة وهو مسجد قديم وأثري في العراق بناهُ الخليفة علي المكتفي بالله، لكي يكون المسجد الجامع لصلاة الجمعة في شرقي القصر الحسني عام 902- 908، ولقد هدم وجدد بنيانه عدة مرات وكان آخرها في عام 1957 ويحتوي على مأذنة أثرية بنيت قبل سبعة قرون وهي أقدم أثر معماري باقي في بغداد منذ عهد الخلافة العباسية ويظهر في الصورة التصميم الهندسي الحديث الذي بناه المهندس محمد مكية في عقد الستينيات وهو اسلوب حديث في الهندسة المعمارية الاسلامية
