En Hanoi cada día transitan miles de motos, más de la mitad de ellas conducidas por mujeres. En Vietnam tener la piel bronceada se asocia a un estatus social más bajo, a quien está expuesto al sol por realizar trabajos menos calificados. Además, cuanto más blanca es la piel, se considera más bella a la mujer. Es por eso que a pesar de los 35 grados de calor que pueda haber en la ciudad, se puede ver a las mujeres jóvenes circulando en sus motos cubiertas con camperas cuyas mangas tienen extensiones que les cubren parcialmente las manos, capucha para la cabeza y tapabocas (muchas veces con el mismo diseño que la tela de la campera). |
