Summary[edit]

Description
English: Alborns Coalmine Track, Victoria Forest Park, New Zealand. Coal mining in the valley began around 1880, and the Alborn family took over the mine in 1923. Coal trucks were lowered down an inclined tramway using Garford and Leyland trucks as stationary winches. The mine closed in the 1950s. The loop track passes several disused mineshafts and goes through a range of vegetation types, from beech forest to manuka scrubland to open poorly-drained terrace.
