Transcripción de la ficha:

"La obra del artista dieciochesco Juan Patricio Morlete Ruiz, narra la visión de san Juan en su capítulo 12 sobre el Apocalipsis, en la que una mujer parada sobre la luna, vestida de sol y coronada por doce estrellas ha librado una batalla con la bestia. La mujer apocalíptica, ataviada con una cartela que alude a la Corona española, sostiene en su mano izquierda las riendas del ser demoníaco y, del lado derecho, un látigo de cáñamo para mortificar la carne del animal que muerde dos llaves atadas en aspa. símbolo de la potestad dada por Cristo a san Pedro. Debajo de la mujer, del lado izquierdo de la composición, tres jóvenes, posibles donantes del cuadro, observan la escena vestidos a la usanza del siglo XVII. Morlete Ruiz trabajó en la presente obra. proveniente de la Pinacoteca Virreinal, los detalles nítidos que permite la técnica del óleo sobre lámina de cobre." (Símbolo y Reino, 2023)
