Skating In Montreal. Remarkable Records Made In Spite Of Bad Weather. Nilsson of Minneapolis Breaks the World's Record in a Five-Mile Race and Is Cheered by the Many Spectators. Montreal, February 6, 1897. Despite the fact that the elements were unpropitious, some remarkable records were made today at the meeting of the Amateur Skating Association of Canada. A light sleet, half snow and half rain, which commenced to fall during the morning, rendered the ice extremely heavy, and a very strong wind blew during the afternoon. ...
