Rechts het Stadhuis van Amsterdam en de personificaties van Geloof, Mercurius als god van de handel en Rechtvaardigheid. Links handelsschepen op zee en mensen, die de West- en Oost-Indische volkeren vertegenwoordigen. Op de voorgrond handelswaar. Onderaan in de marge een verklarende tekst in het Frans.
