Summary[edit]

Description Stems spiral down, quite typical in this grass Aloe from Mount Ribaue in northern Mozambique. The long leaves also have the tendency to spiral down. In the case of the leaves I think this is due to the asymmetrical shape of the leaves. An adaptation to the high rainfall conditions on this mountain (estimated at least 1500 mm per year) in combination with long stems/leaves? (reduces the speed of the water on stems and leaves).
