Summary[edit]
DescriptionAmbassador and Delegation from the United Mexican States tour NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (53585630288).jpg |
English: Mexican Ambassador to the United States Esteban Moctezuma along with a delegation from the Mexican embassy visited NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center for the first time Friday, March 8, 2024. During the visit, the delegation met with Center Director Dr. Makenzie Lystrup along with a handful of Earth and planetary scientists to gain insight on our weather and climate modeling and how that data may be able to assist various functions of the Mexican government. They also met with the project manager of our Search and Rescue laboratory, Lisa Mazzuca. Also in attendance for this portion was Layne Carter, Chief CG-SAR-3 SARSAT Program for U.S. Coast Guard. The tour rounded off with a walkthrough of the Integration and Testing facility and a briefing on the current status of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope with Dr. Begoña Vila, a systems engineer on the project.
