Summary[edit]
DescriptionAmerican Football, play from scrimmage, isometric press and muscular preload.jpg |
English: Both the offense and defense crouch prior to beginning the play. This crouching action is a form of isometric press which preloads the muscles. This will enable the players to drive forward more powerfully when the snap is made and they engage the opposing team.

Image title | 021207-N-2383B-682 East Rutherford, N.J. (Dec. 7, 2002) -- The U.S. Navy Midshipmen offensive line prepares to drive forward as they dominate the playing field against the Army's Black Knights. With Quarterback Craig Candeto from Orange City, Fla., at the helm, the Midshipmen set a record 421 rushing yards with a crushing 508 yards of total offense. This historic rivalry in college football was set in Giants Stadium this year for the 103rd meeting between the two service academies that dates back to 1890. Navy beat Army by an unprecedented, lop-sided score of 58-12. U.S. Navy photo by Chief Photographer's Mate Johnny Bivera. (RELEASED) |
