Summary[edit]
DescriptionAmmonites at Dinton Castle - geograph.org.uk - 247434.jpg |
English: Ammonites at Dinton Castle. One of the more remarkable features of the C18th folly of Dinton Castle is the inclusion in the masonry of numerous very large ammonites. In this photograph a particularly large (over a foot diameter) specimen is to the left near the brickwork, while there are (at least) three more smaller ones in a vertical row to the right. These ammonites are dotted about all over the structure as rather bizarre ornamentation. |
