| Description |
Nederlands: Nieuwendammerdijk 300-308, Amsterdam-Noord. Neoclassicistische huizen voor de gefortuneerde patiëntenkring van de wereldberoemde fysiotherapeut en later kuurarts Johan Georg Metzger (1838-1909). Hij kreeg de grond waarop ze gebouwd zijn van een Zweedse prinses voor zijn reuma-, ischias- en jichtpatiënten. Onder hen waren beroemdheden zoals keizerin Elisabeth (Sissi), Baron de Rothschild, keizerin Eugénie (echtgenote van Napoleon) en hoogleraar letterkunde J.A. Alberdink Thijm. Hierop liet hij rond 1875 de neoclassicistische herenhuizen Nieuwendammerdijk 300-308 bouwen. |
