Anantkumar Hegde: Member of Parliament for Uttara Kannada in the Lok Sabha

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Anant Kumar Hegde, a former Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, has also served as the Member of Parliament for the Uttara Kannada constituency. Over the years, Hegde has secured this constituency for five terms since his initial contest in the 1996 Lok Sabha elections, with only one loss to Alva Margaret of the INC in the 1999 elections. Known for his Hindu nationalist stance and affiliation with the right-wing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Hegde has remained a significant figure in Indian politics. He completed his education at MM Arts & Science College in Sirsi, where he actively participated in RSS activities and later became associated with the ABVP during his college years.
