| Description |
English: At this place you could find the old « Café Adrienne », on the corner of the rue du Chalet and the Grand-Rue in the quarter of the Mont-à-Leux in Mouscron, Belgium. Adrienne Verschuere was the owner of this café in 1950-60. In his song « Les Bourgeois », Jacques Brel refers to this woman when he sings about la grosse Adrienne de Montalant.
Français : C’est à cet endroit que se trouvait l’ancien « Café Adrienne », à l’angle de la rue du Chalet et de la Grand-Rue dans le quartier du Mont-à-Leux à Mouscron, Belgique. Ce café était tenu dans les années 1950-60 par une certaine Adrienne Verschuere. C’est à cette dame que Jacques Brel fait allusion dans sa chanson « Les Bourgeois » quand il parle de la grosse Adrienne de Montalant. |
