English: Ancient Greek tripod crane. Reconstruction by Kóstas Kotsanás using info found in several ancient Greek and Roman writers like Vitruvius, Pappus of Alexandria and Heron of Alexandria. Conceived in the 6th century BC, this crane was used for vertically elevating stones to be used in buildings or bridges. Museum of ancient Greek technology, displayed in the Heraklion building (Crete) in July 2022.
Français : Grue à trois pieds grecque antique. Reconstruction contemporaine par Kóstas Kotsanás à partir des informations présentes chez plusieurs auteurs grecs et romains tels que Vitruve, Pappus d'Alexandria et Héron d'Alexandrie. Conçue au VIe siècle avant J.-C., cette grue était utilisée pour élever verticalement des pierres afin de construire des bâtiments ou des ponts. Musée de la technologie grecque antique, exposé au bâtiment d'Héraklion (Crète) en juillet 2022. |
