Description Anita Newcomb McGee, assistant surgeon, was director of the Daughters of the American Revolution Hospital Corps (which became the Red Cross) and organized the Army Nurse Corps in 1901. This photo is from her service in Japan during the Russo-Japanese War. ca. 1904-1908. Selected by Kathleen.
