Notes Possibly from the collection of John II Casimir Vasa, a collector of Dutch tronies, who after abdication in 1668 settled in Paris. In 1709 mentioned in the collection of Louis XIV at Versailles (Cabinet des tableaux). Also attributed to Guido Reni and school of Rembrandt, stylistically it can be compared with a Portrait of John Casimir in the Royal Castle in Warsaw (inv. ZKW 1175), Schultz's alleged self-portrait in the National Museum in Warsaw (inv. MP 2447) or Family portrait, said to depict Crimean Tatar falconer of John Casimir, in the Hermitage Museum (inv. ГЭ-8540). Identification of the sitter and attribution by Marcin Latka (Artinpl), 29.01.2022.
