Description

Tarihçi ve yazar Sarkis Sarraf Hovhannesyan (1740-1805), 15. yüzyılın son çeyreğinden itibaren ok atma yarışlarında dikilmeye başlanan nişan taşlarının hikâyesini şöyle anlatır: “Rivayete göre Fatih, Arnavutlarla yaptığı savaştan dönerken, çok eskiden bahçe olan bu yere Ok Meydanı adını vermiş. Ok atmaya elverişli mıntıkayı belirleyerek, burayı sahiplerinden para karşılığında satın almış. İskender Paşa’ya, okçuların dua edebilmeleri için burada bir tekke yaptırmasını buyurmuş. Ve yarışta birinci gelen okçular için taş anıt dikilmesini söylemiş. Bu, H. 883 [1478/79] tarihinde olmuştur.
