| Description |
English: Area cleared of silver birch in Hollands Wood, New Forest Some of the clearings in the ancient and ornamental woodland are overgrown with pioneer species such as silver birch - they are being felled as part of the Life III project to restore the wet grasslands in the Forest. According to signboards in the area... wet grasslands are an important part of the forest landscape, providing rich grazing for commoning stock and supporting unique and rare species of plants. |
