Summary[edit]

Description
Interlingue: Arles (Bouches-du-Rhône, Provence, France), interior of the Notre-Dame-la-Major church, as soon as you enter in the south aisle, admirable old high altar from the 17th century, in painted and gilded wood, from the former conventual church of Saint-Blaise in the Saint-Césaire enclosure and recently restored and renamed Altar of the Gardians. The painting, dated 1742, is by the Provencal painter Jacques Carpenel (Puget-sur-Argens 09/09/1699 - Aix-en-Provence 02/16/1769) who lived in Aix from 1726 until his death.
