Français : Armentières (France - département du Nord) — L'église Saint Louis après la Première Guerre Mondiale. Avec la révolution industrielle du XIXe siècle et la poussée de l'industrie textile, la Ville d'Armentières connaît un bel essor dans les dernières décennies du XIXe siècle. La Ville s'étend ; de nouveaux quartiers s'édifient avec de nouvelles usines textiles ; à leurs abords des maisons alignées ainsi que des édifices religieux financés par les industriels du textile, L'ancienne zone rurale des Prés du Hem s'est également urbanisée. Un terrain a été acheté en 1911, pour y construire une église (1912). En 1913, l'église est consacrée. À peine un an plus tard, la Première Guerre mondiale éclate et Armentières est prise par les Allemands. La ville, située près du front, subit les bombardements et les tirs d'artillerie. En 1916, la flèche de l'église s'effondre. Les murs et le clocher sont touchés par l'artillerie, mais l'église Saint-Louis, est la seule de la Cité qui ne soit pas complètement détruite. La cloche de l'église a été prise par les Allemands en 1918. L'église a été restaurée après la guerre et a rouvert ses portes en 1922. Les vitraux ont été posés en 1932. L'église a moins souffert des effets de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Certains vitraux sont tombés lors d'un bombardement en 1940 et furent restaurés en 1950.
