Description Coat of arms of Sir John de Grey (died 1311) of Rotherfield, Derbyshire, as blazoned in the Caerlaverock Roll of 1301, recording the knights present at the Siege of Caerlaverock, 1301. Arms of Grey of Grays Thurrock, Essex and Codnor, differenced by a bend engrailed gules. He was the father of John de Grey, 1st Baron Grey of Rotherfield. (Source: Cokayne, G. E.; H. A.
