English: Taken from the MODIS instrument on the Terra satellite, this true color image of Polynesia was taken on 16 January 2022. In this image you can see what remains of the ash cloud from the Hunga Tonga volcano eruption from the previous day. The main islands of Fiji are upper left, Tonga is middle right (not visible under the cloud cover). |
